About Suyana Foundation
Suyana Foundation is a Swiss non-profit organization established in 2003 with a mission of improving the lives of vulnerable communities through long-term development programmes. The organization initially focused its work in South America before expanding its operations into Africa in 2021.
Today, Suyana collaborates with trusted local partners in Rwanda and Uganda to implement programmes that improve education, health, livelihoods, and community wellbeing.
In Rwanda, the foundation works to improve education access, school attendance, learner retention, inclusive education, literacy, numeracy, and youth skills development. Rather than implementing projects alone, Suyana believes in strengthening local organizations so they can create lasting change within their own communities.
As the organization continues to expand its education portfolio, it is looking for an experienced Education Specialist who can provide technical leadership and support to partner organizations across Rwanda.
Why This Opportunity Matters
Education remains one of the strongest tools for reducing poverty and creating sustainable development. However, many communities continue to face challenges such as school dropout, poor learning outcomes, limited teaching resources, and unequal access to quality education.
The Education Specialist will help address these challenges by working closely with schools, teachers, local organizations, education authorities, and communities to strengthen education systems and improve learning opportunities for children.
The successful candidate will ensure that education programmes are inclusive, evidence-based, and aligned with Rwanda’s national education priorities while also supporting innovation and continuous improvement.
