Key Responsibilities
Fleet Management
The selected candidate will:
- Manage company vehicles, tractors, JCB equipment, and transport assets.
- Develop preventive maintenance schedules for all fleet equipment.
- Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle utilization, mileage, and maintenance costs.
- Coordinate vehicle inspections, repairs, servicing, insurance, and licensing.
- Maintain accurate fleet records and maintenance history.
- Investigate vehicle breakdowns and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure transport availability for tea collection and factory operations.
Logistics and Transportation Coordination
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating transportation of green tea leaves from collection centers.
- Managing dispatch of processed tea to warehouses, customers, and export destinations.
- Optimizing transportation routes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Monitoring loading and unloading operations.
- Ensuring proper preparation of transport documentation.
- Coordinating movement of spare parts, fuel, fertilizers, and factory supplies.
Fuel Management
The officer will:
- Monitor fuel usage across all fleet assets.
- Maintain fuel consumption records.
- Conduct fuel reconciliations.
- Implement controls to prevent misuse, wastage, or theft.
- Prepare fuel analysis and consumption reports.
Driver Supervision
Key duties include:
- Supervising drivers and transport support staff.
- Organizing driver schedules and assignments.
- Conducting driver performance assessments.
- Coordinating safety and defensive driving training.
- Ensuring compliance with transport regulations and company policies.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
The successful candidate will:
- Promote road safety and occupational health standards.
- Ensure vehicles comply with legal requirements.
- Monitor transport-related risks and incidents.
- Support quality, environmental, food safety, and occupational health management systems.
Reporting and Administration
Additional responsibilities include:
- Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly logistics reports.
- Monitoring transport costs and recommending savings opportunities.
- Supporting annual fleet budgets and forecasts.
- Analyzing fleet performance indicators.
- Maintaining accurate logistics records and documentation.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should possess one of the following:
Option 1
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Option 2
- Secondary Diploma or Certificate in General Mechanics, Automobile Mechanics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in fleet management, transport operations, or logistics.
Preferred Qualifications
The following will be considered an advantage:
- Professional certification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, or Fleet Management.
- Valid driving license (Categories B and C).
