About the Project
The newly recruited Project Field Officers will support the implementation of the Refugee Socio-Economic Graduation & Livelihood Opportunities in Rwanda Project, which is being implemented through a partnership between PFTH, RWARRI, Cordaid, and Inkomoko, with financial support from the World Food Programme (WFP).
The project seeks to strengthen the economic resilience and self-reliance of 2,500 refugee and host-community households, including 500 young women, living in three refugee camps:
- Mahama Refugee Camp (Kirehe District)
- Nyabiheke Refugee Camp (Gatsibo District)
- Mugombwa Refugee Camp (Gisagara District)
By December 2028, the project aims to improve household incomes, increase employment opportunities, strengthen nutrition outcomes, and promote inclusive economic participation through skills development, private sector engagement, and value chain development.
As a Project Field Officer, you will contribute directly to achieving these long-term development goals while ensuring that women, youth, and vulnerable community members benefit equally from all project interventions.
Position Overview
The Project Field Officer will be stationed in one of the three refugee camps and will work under the supervision of the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Specialist while collaborating with field teams from consortium partners.
The successful candidates will ensure that project activities integrate gender equality, nutrition-sensitive approaches, social inclusion, and behaviour change communication. They will also support the implementation of internationally recognized community transformation methodologies such as:
- JOT (Journey of Transformation)
- SASA!
- GALS+ (Gender Action Learning System)
These approaches are designed to strengthen household relationships, reduce gender inequalities, prevent gender-based violence, and promote sustainable livelihoods.

The selected Project Field Officers will coordinate and supervise several community-based project activities within their assigned refugee camp.

Coordinate Field Activities
- Oversee the implementation of PFTH project interventions within the assigned refugee camp.

Promote Gender Equality and Social Inclusion
The officers will help mainstream gender equality throughout all project components by:
- Supporting the rollout of JOT, SASA!, and GALS+ methodologies.

Strengthen Community Capacity

Support GBV Prevention and Referral
